July 17 - 19, 2000
University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Outreach Center

What It's All About
This conference offers an extraordinary opportunity for teacher educators, teachers, and administrators to learn about and plan for effective technology integration in a systematic way. At this conference, you will learn about and have the opportunity to apply The NCREL & Metiri Group's Six Essential Conditions for Effective Technology Use:

1. Vision - Share or develop a vision for your class, school, or system that prepares students to live, learn and work successfully.

2. Learning Environments - Translate that vision into practice by combining effective, engaging, and challenging action with content goals and technology competencies.

3. Knowledge - Design technology-supported learning environments through discussions and hands-on workshops.

4. Equity - Plan learning opportunities and technology use so that students of all races, ethnicity, genders, and abilities will participate actively in and benefit from education.

5. Anytime, Anywhere - Ensure that resources, connectivity, technical support, etc., are in place to create learning environments where technology can be used "anytime, anywhere" to support learning.

6. Systems and Priorities - Develop a plan to that moves students from the information age to the knowledge age.
