BeeSign

The goal of this research study is to better understand how young students (kindergarten through second grade) learn about complex systems such as honeybees collecting nectar.  In addition, this research project aims to understand the role of creating and using different representations such as drawings, computer simulations, participatory simulations, and participatory models in this kind of learning.

The BeeSign software is a computer simulation designed to help young students observe the behavior of honeybees as they collect nectar and experiment with the result of changing either the behavior of the bees or the environment in which the hive is located.
